what do we do with all this information?

Please take a few minutes to watch this video…

Now – what do we do with this?

  • As individuals?
  • As parents?
  • As leaders in our various spheres?
  • As those who navigate the web frequently?
  • As those who use the web to connect and communicate?
  • Are we in a new era – a second tower-of-Babel type of era?
  • What will come of this for humanity over the next 5 years? How will the current economic state impact this trending?

If you don’t think this is significant, then you are out of touch with current culture. Sociologically, psychologically, relationally, futuristically, nationally, internationally, individually, and as humanity, what we do with all this information and how we continue to interact with “it” and with one another is vital and definitive.

Please comment. I would really like to learn and dialogue on this. Thanks!

  1. To me it means change is imminent and out of our control. No longer are we a feudal system led by the hierarchy.

More than that, it reinforces love as the dominant language no matter how “advanced” we are becoming. I am encouraged that no matter how much we think we are progressing, the royal law is an unmovable command that is worth giving our lives to.

Let technology do its thing. Be the church.

    • Hey man…really miss you! Super appreciate your comment. Grateful for the move from hierarchy. Hope it is to more profound relationship. That’s when life works.

We are walking through 1st John together as a church family. Outrageous Love. A shared life with God evidenced not by “godliness” as we have known it. Rather, evidenced by a shared life with one another.

Checked out your site. Totally dig it. Want to iChat soon? We never set a date. How about 3:00 my time, Tues Mar 17th?

      Love you man.

  2. I think we live in a grand time, much like every centennial before us. To say that it is bad or good is short changing it. I think there are negative and positive consequences that arise out of this phenomenon and we need to constantly be aware of what they are.

  3. I have seen this video before. The growth of technology is overwhelming and it seems as if it has taken a life of it’s own.

The world is so much smaller now. This evens the playing field between the US and other countries in business. We will need to adjust our standard of living to compete with the whole world for jobs. Companies will need to reevaluate how they run business to be competative.

I also feel that this technology explosion is giving birth to a global mindset. Not only will we need to think globally now, this also makes it easier for the world governments to consolidate power. I believe we are at the front door of the tower of babel.

I see this information as having a tremendous impact on our future as we will need to refocus our attention on God,family, and relationships instead of consumption. If people have found solace in materialism, they will be in for a rude awakening as our economic position as a country shift to a much lower level globally.

    • Right on, Tammy! Love your comment and your insight. I am very interested in seeing both the good and bad that emerge as we keep moving forward in this season of humanity.

Love you guys! Hope to see you soon!

  4. Did you also know that Nick VandenBrekel of Orlando FL is the one who had his firm put this together and have it go viral?
My thoughts: Gen 11:6 says that when we all speak the same language (and share information) that “nothing they purpose to do will be impossible for them’ NAS. The next verse God says, “Let us go down there and confuse their language.” So, what do you think He will do this time when we all get together and AGAIN constuct a Tower or Bable? I think we know. Let’s use the technology and anything else to ‘love on the planet’ !!!!

  5. I know that we cannot keep up with it.. all the information we can access will destroy us if we allow it. I can hardly have a conversation with anyone with out them staring at their iphone, blackberry, etc.. it has taken control.. question – how do we free ourselves from what is so suppose to free us, give us flexibility, freedom.. it has trapped us in my opinion.. what about a face to face conversation with my neighbor who I haven’t spoken with in six months. Salt and light applies here doesn’t it? Outrageous..

frustrated at the moment, I’ll be better tomorrow after I throw an 8 track in, call someone from a plugged in land line, adjust the rabbit ears, and have sex i.e. being intimate with my wife and not have text with her. I need to wake up, right??
